Olympiacos fan @samaronylp made us aware of a quite bizarre shirt story that is caused by UEFA's infamous UEFA kit rules - Greece champions Olympiakos had to create a special European UEFA-compliant version of their brand-new Adidas 2020-2021 home kit.
Olympiacos 2020-2021 European Version
The European UEFA version of the Olympiakos 2020-2021 Adidas home kit is the same as the standard shirt with one exception - the back of the shirt has white stripes on the lower part.
The reason for Olympiakos' kit different in UEFA competitions is simple - UEFA has banned shirts that have stripes, hoops or similar patterns only on the front but not on the back since their latest Kit Rules change.
In fact, UEFA is not only forcing teams with striped kits to have also stripes on the back, but has also rules for checkered and half-and-half kits. See the respective image below.
The latest UEFA kit rules were introduced ahead of the 2019-20 season.
The Olympiakos 2020-2021 Adidas home kit with the stripes on the back is not available to buy.
