Napoli Linked With Return to Umbro

Italian outlet NSS Magazine report that Napoli could team up with Umbro from next season onwards.

Napoli Linked with Umbro

According to NSS Magazine, Umbro may return as Napoli's kit-maker for the 23-24 season. It would be the second partnership between the two, the first lasting from 1991 to 1994. That was a difficult period for the club on the pitch as they had to adjust to life without Diego Maradona. Their best league finish during that time was 4th in the 91-92 season. Nonetheless, their Umbro shirts from that era featured eye-catching designs and patterns and are immensely popular with collectors.

Umbro currently have no presence in Serie A or Serie B, so signing Napoli would mark a return to the Italian market. I Partenopei are the runaway league leaders this season and are currently 12 points clear. If a deal were to go through then the Umbro logo would likely find itself neighboured by a Scudetto badge on its return. The rumours of a deal come solely from NSS for now, while Napoli kit insider @TutelaMagliaNA has stated that he has not heard anything on the matter and expects the club to continue producing their own jerseys in collaboration with EA7.
