Umbro Won't Extend Werder Deal - New Kit Maker for 2024?

According to multiple recent news reports, Umbro, who are currently under contract with German club Werder Bremen, will not be extending the partnership.

Werder To Leave Umbro

Werder Bremen have a deal with Umbro that lasts until 2025, however it has been reported that the contract will not be extended. Umbro are apparently not looking to renew the deal. This means the two sides could already part ways in summer of 2024.

It is highly probable that the 2023-24 kits will still be made by Umbro, as the design phase will already have been underway for months. This gives Werder at least one year to find a replacement.

Their two most recent kit suppliers before Umbro were Nike (2009-2018) and Kappa (2000-2009). A return to Puma (1978-2000) would probably be the most sought-after option by long-time Werder fans.

The contract with shirt sponsor Wiesenhof, who currently display their Green Legend logo on Werder's shirts, will run out this summer, with talks over a renewal coming up. Bremen are open to other sponsors as well.

Who do you think should supply Werder's kits after Umbro? Do you like Umbro's designs for the club? Comment below.
