After scoring a goal in the friendly against Qatar, Jonathan David covered the Swoosh in his goal celebration to protest against Nike, the supplier of the Canadian National Team. The reason is simple. Canada will be the only nation at the 2022 World Cup that will not be sporting a brand new kit.

Jonathan David is not the only Canadian player unhappy with Nike. "I’m not a fan of it, to be honest," Canada defender Sam Adekugbe said earlier this month.

Nike say that the reason for Canada to get no new kit is that Canada are "on a different kit development cycle".

The Lille striker found the back of the net against Qatar - his 20th goal in 30 games.
