Canada Keep Uninspired Teamwear Kits at 2022 World Cup Due to Being "on a Different Kit Development Cycle"

Earlier this year Canada beat Jamaica 4-0 to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, 36 after their only ever previous appearance in 1986.

It seems that this has surprised everyone involved, from the federation to the kit supplier Nike. While Nike's other international teams, including 12 who will play at the World Cup, unveiled their new kits today, we got official confirmation about the earlier rumors of Canada keeping their old kits. This means that, pending a major surprise, Canada will be the only team out of the 32 to not unveil new kits for the tournament.

Canada is on a different 'kit development cycle'

According to Nike, the fact that Canada keep their uninspired, teamwear-based kits is due to due them being "on a difference kit development cycle". This is a lame excuse for what can only be described as a massive missed opportunity.
