No More Three - Chelsea to Get New Main Sponsor

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will not resume the club's suspended partnership with mobile network Three and will turn to the USA to find a new main shirt sponsor, reports freelance journalist and Chelsea correspondent Andreas Korssund.

Chelsea Will Not Resume Three Sponsorship

Three suspended their sponsorship of Chelsea because of the government sanctions placed on previous owner Roman Abramovich. The term "suspended" seemed to suggest that it would be a temporary pause, but new American owner Todd Boehly is reportedly ready to look elsewhere rather than trying to salvage the deal with Three. Korssund claims that Boehly will turn to his homeland in search of new partnerships for the club.

Boehly's takeover of Chelsea means that the club are able to operate a lot more freely financially after the difficult period following the sanctions on Abramovich, with negotiations on things such as sponsorship deals being possible once again.

Three have been Chelsea's main sponsor since the 20-21 season and the deal is worth about €52 million a season for the club. Despite the suspension, Three's logo has remained on the Blues' shirts. No potential replacements have been named yet, although Chelsea announced yesterday a new sleeve partnership with crypto firm Whalefin.

All Chelsea shirts to feature the Three logo.

Chelsea fans will probably be happy to see the back of Three, whose logo is not best suited to football kits, as long-suffering Ireland supporters would agree.

What do you think of Boehly's decision to search for a new sponsor? Are there any logos you think would fit well on Chelsea's kits? Comment below.
