Napoli to Continue Lete Shirt Sponsorship Deal - More Red to Come

Update - June 27, 2022: According to SSC Napoli insider @TutelaMagliaNA, the club will continue their long-running partnership with Lete. The two sides apparently met this month to discuss their future, the extension of the deal being the result.

No precise details about the new deal are known, however what is certain is that we will continue to see Lete use red in their logos that feature on Napoli's home kits. This has been criticized for many years now, but will not change for the foreseeable future.

Original - May 29, 2022: SSC Napoli will hold a meeting with their shirt Sponsor, Lete, on Friday the 3rd of June, as reported by Napoli kit insider @TutelaMagliaNA. Could the long-running partnership be about to end?

Napoli to End Lete Deal?

Italian bottled water company, Lete, have been partners of the club since 1998, and have had their logo on the front of Napoli's shirts since 2005, making it one of the longest running sponsorship deals in football. They have accompanied i Partenopei from their days in Serie B to the current standing of regular title contenders, and have seen many kit manufacturers come and go in that time.

Despite Napoli's status as one of the biggest clubs in Italy and their constant participation in European competition over the last ten years, the Lete deal is not very lucrative. Napoli earn around €9 million a year from their two main shirt sponsors combined, Lete and MSC.

This, along with their notorious red logo on the shirt, means that many fans would be happy to see Napoli negotiate a deal with a different sponsor. The motive for Friday's meeting is not known, it could be to sign an extension, a cancellation or maybe even to negotiate new terms, possibly including the colour and size of the logo, among other things. We will update this story when we know more.
