Atalanta Cancel Christmas Kit With Wrong Torino Skyline In The Last Minute

In an unexpected turn of events, Atalanta have canceled their 2021 Christmas kit. This was announced on the club's official website shortly ahead of the game against AS Roma.

The Atalanta 2021 Christmas kit features the skyline of the city of Torino, just in a mirrored version. It was claimed to show off the skyline of Bergamo until today.

Atalanta Wear Regular Kit Against Roma Instead Of Christmas Kit

Atalanta did wear the regular 2021-22 home kit against AS Roma. They originally wanted to wear the Christmas jersey for their annual Christmas match.

Atalanta released the following statement very shortly ahead of the match.

Official Statement: Regretful and sorry for what has happened in recent days, in order to avoid any further exploitation, given the importance of the match, the club have decided that today the team will take the field wearing the first official match jersey.

During the night, even a banner in Zingonia, outside the venue of the club, asked that the shirt not be worn by the players for the match:

"The shirt is wrong!! Out of respect it should not be worn".

The annual Atalanta Christmas charity initiative does not stop, however, with the auction in favor of the Amici della Pediatria Onlus Association (the Association of the Friends of the Paediatrics non-profit organizations of social utility). It was intended to auction off the game-worn kits after the Roma match.
