The boots worn by Mbappé feature a bold design in green, red and gold, inspired by a concept created by young American Brenijia Barnes. Speaking to Footpack, she stated that she was "proud and happy to have designed Mbappé's boots". Even if the boots worn by Mbappé are quite a bit different and only utilize the standard options available in "Nike By You", which is the successor of the popular Nike iD program. All of this was made possible thanks to Street Soccer USA, a non-profit that fights against poverty and aims to strengthen communities through football.

The original sketches made by Barnes were shared by Mbappé in his IG story, revealing a bold and colorful look that's not quite replicated by the final result.

What made it onto the actual boots worn by Mbappé is the WATTS text printed on the inside of the left shoe. This is inspired by the Watts Empowerment Center, which opened in 2018, and is a "state-of-the-art facility where the youth, young adults and families in Watts Housing Projects can discover their purpose, while developing their talents with the help of top industry and business professionals."
