Sevilla Announce Castore Kit Deal

Update: Sevilla FC and Castore have just announced a four-year deal that will see the UK-based brand become the club's official kit supplier. Today's announcement of course confirms our previous info, first published in June of last year.

Sevilla are Castore's first La Liga club. Today's announcement follows a deal signed with Leverkusen recently, while Aston Villa are still to be officially confirmed but will also sign with the brand.

Castore broke into the professional sport by sponsoring Andy Murray, has made the leap to the Premier League with Newcastle and Wolverhampton, and dress the McLaren F1 team since this year as well.

Castore to Make Sevilla Kits From 2022

Starting with the 2022-23 season, Castore will be Sevilla's official kit provider for an initial four seasons.

Sevilla president, José Castro, believes that "partnering with Castore is an important step for our club, because we are linking up with a company that shares our values. It is an ambitious brand that in just a few years, starting from scratch, has managed to break the status quo in the world of sports brands in the same way that we have done in Spanish and European football. We share this spirit of unlimited growth and we are convinced that both Castore and Sevilla FC are going to achieve important goals together."

Tom Beahon, Castore's co-founder, stated: “We’re incredibly proud to announce Castore’s latest partnership with Sevilla FC and to be expanding our presence in European football. Sevilla are an exceptional team with high aspirations, and we’re confident they are the right club to represent Castore’s ‘Better Never Stops’ philosophy. This is an exciting step for Castore, and we look forward to working closely with Sevilla FC ahead of the 2022/23 season.”

Nike paid Sevilla a fixed sum of €2.3 million per season

Nike and Sevilla renewed their deal in late 2020 for a further year, until summer 2022. According to reports about the Castore rumors, Nike paid roughly €2.3 million per season, plus bonuses.

It is not known how much Castore will pay Sevilla - the same report suggested that Castore didn't convinced Sevilla with an extremely high annual payment. Instead, Castore could help the club by selling more bespoke merchandising items, especially off-pitch lifestyle products.

Sevilla is in the Top 5 of La Liga in terms of kit sales

In 2018-2019, Sevilla's first year with Nike, merchandising revenue soared 50% to €5.4 million. The Covid-19 slowed down the trend - with €4.5 million, Sevilla remained in the Top 5 of La Liga.
