Known as the next big thing of Germany, Wirtz joined the youth team of 1. FC Köln in 2010, where he remained until signed by Bayer Leverkusen in January 2020. Wirtz made his professional debut for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on 18 May 2020. Wirtz usually laces up in the latest Adidas X Ghosted + boots.

Most remarkably, Florian Wirtz's blackout Adidas X Speedflow boots come with a newly constructed laceless upper design. What is most eye-catching about it is that the new Adidas X Speedflow upper comes with a "collar" at the front area, certainly added to increase lockdown.

A look at the outsole of the next-gen Adidas X Speedflow prototype boots worn by Wirtz does not reveal much. However, the leaked pictures of the laces version already showed off that the sole plate has not been really changed by Adidas.

The Adidas X Speedflow boots are set to be released in July 2021, likely in a multicolor paint job.
