Never Again In Future! Bayern's Kit History In Blue & Red
In November 2018, Bayern Munich announced that their home kits will be solely red and white in the future. This decision came after years of fan protests - now renowned classic shirt experts and store Classic Football Shirts (@classicshirts) has taken us trough Bayern Munich's history of blue and red.
Interestingly, Bayern Munich released a red and blue kit just some weeks ago. The Adidas x Pharrell 'Human Race' Bayern Munich 2020 jersey is based on the 1991-93 home shirt with its large block 3 Stripes on the shoulders - however, it was just a special release and inspired by a beloved kit, so fans were not angry at all.

The history of Bayern Munich in blue & red begins in 1968 and the 1968-69 season, when Bayern unveiled a 'Barcelona' Blaugrana styled home kit. The club should use red and striped kits until 1973 before burying the color for almost 20 years.

In 1990, Bayern brought back the blue and red stripes kit for their 90-years anniversary with a special-edition jersey. This was the start of more than a decade of Bayern chancing their colors and designs, with even ditching their red home shirts at all for a navy kit.
In 2003-04, Bayern reverted to their traditional red and white colors, while they had a "real" blue and red jersey in the 2014-15 season.
Future Bayern Munich home kits will not have a bit of blue at all, on case you are wondering - thee won't be such a Bayern home kit as in the 2018-2019 season.
Bayern will wear the red, white and blue Humanrace jersey in the DFB Pokal match away against Holstein Kiel if it is not decided to be clash of colors... the first time for them to have a kit with blue since the decision for red and white only kits was announced in 2018.
