INSANE: Turkish Club Denizlispor Reproduces Nike As Kappa Kits To Bypass Federation Rules

On November 7 2020, Denizlispor announced that it signed a sponsorship deal with Kappa, effective from the 2020-21 season until at least 2021-22. However, as the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) does not allow teams to switch shirt manufacturers during a season, the team had to "trick the federation". Thanks to @esvaphane for the heads-up.

"Kappa" Denizlispor 20-21 Kit Based On Nike Template

The Kappa Denizlispor 20-21 home and away kits replicate the look of their Nike teamwear-based 20-21 jerseys.

Turkish Football Federation Does Not Allow Switch Of Kit Makers During Ongoing Season

According to the instructions of the TFF, it is not possible to change the jersey in the middle of the season. To avoid this, the Kappa jerseys were produced for Denizlispor in the same design as Nike jerseys. The Nike logo was evaluated as "advertisement" and Kappa logo was placed with the advertisement change.

"The TFF Sportive Equipment Instruction does not contain an article that allows change of form or jersey manufacturer, but it is emphasized that uniforms should be notified at the beginning of the season."

A similar trick is used by Austrian club LASK, whose kits are made by water technology company BWT in UEFA competitions.
