Rayo Vallecano Without Kit Supplier Days Before Start of Season

Spanish second division side Rayo Vallecano are without a kit supplier, just days before the start of the season. Thanks to @swanseanti for the heads-up!

Originally under contract with Kelme until 2021, the club received a 'burofax' from the firm in early July. In it, Kelme announced an unilateral cancellation of the deal due to "force majure".

Rayo stated to MARCA that Kelme offered to fulfill the deal for more money, which the club refused. It's reported that Rayo are considering legal action.

What is certain is that the Kelme Rayo 20-21 kits, the designs of which were already approved before the pandemic, will not see the light of the day.

Rayo are currently working to find an agreement with a new brand, with the names of two potential suppliers on the table.

There's not much time as the club are set to start their 2020-21 La Liga Smartbank season against Mallorca on Sunday. If that match takes place that is. A friendly against Real Madrid, scheduled for today, was canceled due to an unnamed Rayo player testing positive for the coronavirus.

The friendlies up until now were played in last season's Kelme kits.
