The AFC Bournemouth M88 deal, which was worth UK£5 million / year, expired on 31st May. Bournemouth opted not to prolong the arrangement after the UK Gambling Commission opened an investigation into M88.

The Gambling Commission told the Athletic that they are “currently looking at various aspects” of the online betting company’s “model and operations”.

The Athletic said that Bournemouth are ‘actively seeking’ a new shirt sponsor for the remainder of the season, while the Daily Mail reports that Bournemouth cul replace M88’s branding with a thank you message to key workers for their efforts during the coronavirus crisis.
