Here Is The 50-Page Bundesliga Concept Document That Allows League To Return Playing In Coronavirus Times

The German Bundesliga is the first major European league to restart soccer today. To get the green light from the politics for the league's return, the DFL (organizing body of the Bundesliga) has worked out a special 50 page medical concept in cooperation with medical professionals.

Bundesliga Coronavirus Concept

The Bundesliga Coronavirus Guide is spitted in four parts that are important to be able to return playing soccer with a responsible risk - Stadiums, Training Facilities, Hotels & Home Hygiene.

The concept has three main fields of action.

I. Documenting COVID-19 cases and their progression in all the clubs from 27 April to the last season match for the entire periphery of the teams and (assistant) referees.

II. Frequent and regular testing of people directly and indirectly involved in training and competition for COVID-19 infection in an appropriate format.

III. Ensuring that the risk of contagion is minimised during joint training and matches (logistics and organisational measures at the training and match site as well as rules of conduct for everyone involved).

There are various restrictions and guides for all of these areas - below is a graphic that shows off the situation of a match-day, on which a maximum of 326 people should be in and around the stadium.

In total, the German Bundesliga will make around 25,000 thousands tests for people involved.

The concept of the DFL applies to all Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, men's 3. Liga and Women’s Bundesliga clubs, referees and other relevant persons.

However, the best concept relies on the people to follow it. Hertha's Salomon Kalou published a now infamous video in which he and team mates violated against the regulations. Augsburg's coach Heiko Herrlich went to a local supermarket during the team's one-week quarantine and will be not able to coach the team.
