The renewal of the contract – which was due to expire on 30 June 2020 and has seen Kappa produce the Azzurri’s jerseys since 2015 – was a key objective for BasicNet president Marco Boglione and SSC Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who will now discuss the terms of a longer-term agreement having ensured the plans already in place for the next two seasons can move forward undisrupted.

The contract signed in 2015 had a five-year duration of 8 million a year, with a big freedom of maneuver for the Neapolitan club in terms of marketing and management of its stores. The official figures for the renewal were not disclosed.

Interestingly, some news agencies accidentally already "leaked" the contract extension in August 2019...
