Marta Shows Off Unique Nike Mercurial Boots

Brazilian superstar Marta is wearing a unique Nike Mercurial Vapor in in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. We take a closer look at them to find out what they are all about.

Marta Vieira da Silva (born 19 February 1986 - 33 years old), commonly known as Marta, is often regarded as the best female player of all time. With 16 goals, she holds the record for most goals scored at FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments. She was named FIFA World Player of the Year six times.

Marta had been sponsored by Puma for several years. She seems to be without a boot contract now.

Marta Wears Special Blackout Nike Mercurial Boots To Promote Equality in Sports

The Nike Mercurial Vapor Marta 2019 soccer cleats are completely black with a blue and pink application. Marta's logo is on the rear area of the boots.

The light blue and pink application on the boots is not there for a stylish look or for fun but to promote sports equality - it is the branding of 'Go Equal', a new project by the Brazilian superstar for equality in sports.

Marta has always been a staunch supporter of equality in the women’s game, and in 2018 she was appointed as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador for women and girls in sport.

The special Nike Mercurial Marta boots will be not available to buy.
