German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and Volkswagen are sending a sign against exclusion with a special jersey. VfL Wolfsburg is set to wear the kit in the Bundesliga match against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.

VfL Wolfsburg already has been using a rainbow captain armband since the start of the season as a sign for tolerance and against discrimination.

VfL Wolfsburg To Wear Special 'Diversity' Jersey Logo

The special Wolfsburg kit comes with the colorful #Vielfalt-Logo (Diversity-Logo) instead of the VW logo. Originally, it was intended to wear rainbow numbers, but that was not allowed by the league.

"Originally we wanted to wear the rainbow back numbers to the action match day, which our diversity teams have had on their jerseys since October. However, this is not compatible with DFL guidelines. A big thank you therefore goes to Volkswagen, who made our joint campaign possible at all," says VfL Managing Director Michael Meeske.

"Sport, and football in particular, is an important part of Volkswagen's social commitment. There is one important aspect that must not be forgotten: Tolerance and diversity," says Hiltrud Werner, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for Integrity and Law.
