Special-Edition Sampdoria Kit Celebrates 120th Anniversary of Parent Club
Sampdoria just revealed a special-edition kit that celebrates the 120th anniversary of the foundation of one of its parent clubs and that will be worn this weekend against Atalanta.
In March 1899, the football section of the Sampierdarenese Gymnastics Society was founded, which would later merge with another club, Andrea Doria, to create Sampdoria. The iconic and timeless Sampdoria shirt design was created then, combining the blue shirts worn by Andrea Doria and the white, red and black midsection of Sampierdarenese.

This picture shows the limited, special-edition Sampdoria jersey to be worn against Atalanta.
Inspired by the Sampierdarenese design, the special Sampdoria shirt is white with a red and black ring and a very traditional collar. It does not feature a club emblem, while the sponsor appears very far down on the front, below the horizontal stripe.
Just like with Sampierdarenese's kits, black shorts and socks will complete the uniform.
Limited to 200 units, the shirt will be sold starting on Sunday at the stadium. Once 100 shirts have been sold, the remaining ones will be auctioned off in the coming weeks for charity.
