Adidas 'Recycles' Kit Design From Tigres For Houston Dynamo

Major League Soccer club Houston Dynamo released their new home kit by Adidas for 2019-2020 this Thursday. However, the club's new kit design in not really unique but has been already used by Adidas for another kit this year.

Tigres 'Tiger Stripes' Are The Same As Houston Dynamo' 'Energy Stripes'

The Houston Dynamo 2019-2020 home kit features the club's trademark orange colors with a subtle Energy Stripes graphic pattern on the front. However, while it first looks like a unique design, a closer look reveals that the 'Energy Stripes' pattern is the same as the 'Tiger Stripes' pattern of Mexican club Tigres. The only difference is that the pattern has been mirrored by Adidas, that only parts of it has been used, and that it is, obviously, less visible.

With the Tigres 2019 third kit having been released in early January 2019, it is safe to assume that both kits were designed at a similar time, possibly by the same designer.

It is not the first time that Adidas and other brands are using the same designs for different teams. This time, it is just not a standard pattern but one that we thought would have been exclusively designed for Tigres.
