Bohemian Forced to Scrap Bob Marley Kit - New Design Revealed

Irish club Bohemian, which made waves last month with the unveiling of its new away kit featuring a large print of Bob Marley. Turns out the club didn't actually have the rights to use Marley's image, which has forced a complete do over of the jersey.

"Bohemian Football Club acted in good faith and followed the correct process when purchasing the license for this image via a world-leading third-party photo licensing company.

However, the Bob Marley representative agency has informed us that this company did not have the right to grant any such license for this image.

Subsequently, following direct correspondence with the Bob Marley representative agency, they cannot license the image to the Bohemian Football Club due to their own contractual and other obligations."

The redesigned jersey features a clenched, raised first, a symbol of solidarity and support, in the place on the bottom right.

10% of profits from the jersey will go to a fund to support the fan led, and previously fan funded, initiative of bringing people with low income to the club's games at Dalymount Park.

Following the latest moves, Bohemian has announced that everyone who already registered for a 2019 away shirt will have three options: a full refund, a shop credit for the amount, or the redesigned new jersey.
