Philadelphia Union Announce Revolutionary Partnership To Provide Players Custom Football Boots

Philadelphia Union last week announced a new, revolutionary partnership with footwear and apparel retailer KicksUSA that sees the brand become the Official Footwear Customization Service of the Philadelphia Union.

Under the partnership, KicksUSA will partner with local footwear production house, Garrixon, to provide cleat customization for Union players, utilizing state-of-the-art design and production facilities to create one-of-a-kind boots reflecting players’ personal tastes and personalities.

The first player to receive a custom soccer cleat as part of the innovative partnership was Jack Elliott.

“KicksUSA is a perfect fit for us, and we’re excited to roll out this never before seen partnership,” said Jean-Paul Dardenne, Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for Philadelphia Union. “We think our players will love this one-of-a-kind service, and we also think our fans will enjoy the increased retail distribution that a premium partner like KicksUSA offers.”

“No professional team has ever had a boot customization service to this level, creating cleats from the ground up at this intricate standard of personal service and style,” added Doug Vosik, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications for the Union. “KicksUSA is at the forefront of design and innovation, and we’re excited to see what they can create in partnership with our players.”

"With our retail presence continuing to expand, there’s no better teammate for a partnership than a league leader like the Union,” said KicksUSA/Ubiq Head of Marketing Cesar Vizcarrondo. “It was important for us to partner with an organization that had a strong local presence and demonstrated a shared commitment to positively impacting Philadelphia area culture. Through this partnership, we’ll utilize the Union's connection to the sports consumer and create new opportunities for fans to engage in the sneaker lifestyle culture.”

Founded in 2002, KicksUSA is based in Philadelphia and has expanded to 60+ locations in Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York and Maryland.
