Almost a full month into the season, Forest Green Rovers could still not begin to sell replica shirts to their fans as Hummel didn't deliver any yet. In fact, the club was forced to play all of its games so far wearing a light blue makeshift third kit.

Pre-orders for the replica shirts were taken by the club from early August but now they'll never be sent out to any of the club's supporters. Instead, Forest Green Rovers today presented a new set of kits, produced by small custom kit brand PlayerLayer and featuring almost identical designs to the Hummel shirts.

Those shirts will be ready to be shipped out by mid-October, the club announced.

Similar issues were experienced by other lower league clubs in English supplied by Hummel, as well as Grimsby Town, whose kits are made by Errea.
