Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl - Black / Blue

This is the black and blue Adidas Ace 17+ football boot.

Predominantly black, the new Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl UCL Dragon football boots features an interesting graphic print on the sides in blue and red, a bit like a reverse of this summer's Paris Pack edition of the Ace 16+ PureControl. The graphic print draws inspiration from the 2017 Champions League final in Cardiff.

The lateral stripes are black, while the support cage surrounding them is of a translucent blue material. Last but not least, the sole plate of this new Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl UCL Dragon 2017 soccer boot appears to also feature a translucent blue, fading to black at the front, while the studs at the back are of the same pinkish red used in the graphic print.

In terms of their tech, the new Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl UCL Dragon cleats continues to be built around the same laceless concept as its predecessor, the Ace 16+ PureControl. A new ridging pattern has been added in the forefoot area of the shoe in order to improve ball control and touch.

The most intriguing addition, however, is the use of Adidas' renowned Boost cushioning system. Used in a much smaller amount than in the brand's Ultra Boost running shoes, for example, a thin layer of Boost is placed between the outsole and sockliner of the Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl. For increased exposure, the central part of the sole plate is translucent, thus revealing the characteristic white, Styrofoam-like material.

The black and blue Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl UCL Dragon cleats are a limited-edition release and are available from February 13.
