Black Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 Dark Lightning Boots Released

Nike finishes off the year with a predominantly black colorway for the Mercurial Superfly V. Officially called 'Black / Electric Green / White', the new Nike Mercurial Superfly V soccer cleats are set to be released in November 2016 and will be worn by the likes of Paulo Dybala, Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal. They form part of the new Nike Dark Lightning pack.

This image shows the new Black & Electric Green Nike Mercurial Superfly V 2016 football boot, part of the Nike Dark Lightning collection.

Predominantly black, the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 Dark Lightning soccer shoe colorway comes without the Mercurial Superfly V's trademark gradient.

Instead, it features a set of lines in a bold orange on each side of the Dynamic Fit collar, while the 'speed ribs' are highlighted through the use of thin green lines on the outside, and thicker blue ones on the inside. All brandings on the first-ever black colorway for the Nike Mercurial Superfly V are white, with striking red studs completing the design.

In terms of tech, the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 Dark Lightning Pack soccer boots provide a sock-like fit with a knitted upper and heightened collar. A new 'speed-rib' texture is present in the upper as well, to improve ball control and touch at speed.

Additionally, the sole plate of the Nike Mercurial Superfly V soccer cleats was completely reworked compared to that of their predecessors, including an all-new stud layout. Read more on the tech of the Mercurial Superfly V here.

The 'Black & Electric Green' Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 2016-2017 boots will be available from November 25, 2016, and retail at $300 (€300, £240). They are included in the Nike Dark Lightning pack.
