Colombia 2016 Copa America Kit Released

As we reported earlier, the new Colombia Copa America Centenario kit is white, inspired by some of the very first Colombia jerseys worn in the 1940s.

No new Colombia away kit will be unveiled for the 2016 Copa America. Instead, the current Colombia away kit will be carried over by Adidas.

Adidas Colombia 2016 Home Kit

This is the new Colombia home kit, set to be worn by James Rodríguez and Co. at Copa America Centenario.

Mostly white, the new Colombia home jersey features accents in navy and red, with the previously expected yellow restricted to the federation crest. Navy is used for the iconic collar, similar to the one used for the new Spain kit, as well as for the Adidas stripes, which run down on both sides of the new Colombia football shirt.

Red is used for the sleeve cuffs and trim on the lower back of the collar of the new Colombia kit. The front and sleeves of the Colombia Copa America Centenario home kit show subtle striping, in similar fashion to the new Mexico kit.

White was not only used for Colombia's home kits in the 1940s, but also for iconic away jerseys in the 1970s and 1980s. Colombia adapted a red-blue-yellow tricolor kit in 1985, only switching to the currently established yellow-blue-red in 1993.
